A Speculative Atlas of the Caribbean

A Speculative Atlas of the Caribbean, is a photo installation that draws from my growing archive of images. These images explore the tensions and contradictions inherent to those with social and political power, by depicting the complexities and nuances of the Caribbean region. The images are arranged in a nonhierarchical composition, with the intention of asserting equal relationships among the spaces, places, objects, and affiliations represented in the installation. The viewer is invited to engage with the installation, and explore the ways in which these images relate to one another, and how they shed light on the Caribbean region's history, culture, and politics. This installation is a reflection of my ongoing interest in understanding and reflecting on the Caribbean region, its history and current affairs./p>
