Sujeto manglar
Sujeto manglar (2025) is a metaphorical video/film project exploring connection between humanity and the mangrove forests in Puerto Rico. Through evocative imagery and a looping 5-minute visual narrative, the film delves into the present and the past, politics of land and protective paradoxes that in essence reflect on the mangrove as a living entity. The film also highlights their critical role in this ecosystem that is rapidly disappearing due to climate change. As a reflection of Lionel's artistic vision and personal connections to the narrative, this film not only portrays the multidimensional reality that holds beauty and resilience of mangroves; but also serves as a metaphor for protection and sustenance in a changing world.
